Victor is a National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) Certified Instructor, offering the nationally recognized safe boating course designed to prepare recreational boaters to operate vessels responsibly and confidently.

When something stops working on the water, knowing how to diagnose the problem can make the difference between a minor inconvenience and a serious situation. This session focuses on identifying and addressing the most common causes of equipment failure.
In this course the participant will understand the most common mechanical issues boaters encounter, basic troubleshooting techniques, and be able to identify potential equipment failures before they escalate.
Emergency situations on the water can develop quickly. This training prepares boaters to respond calmly and effectively to the most critical scenarios they may encounter.
Participants will learn best practices for on-water emergency situations, responding to boats taking on water or sinking, fire response procedures aboard a vessel, man overboard response techniques, and basic emergency first aid considerations.

After graduating high school in the late 1980s, Victor entered the United States Coast Guard where he served as an Engineer on Search & Rescue vessels. During his service with the USCG he conducted hundreds of rescue missions on the Gulf Coast.
After serving two tours with the United States Coast Guard, he returned to Mobile and worked as a marine technician until 1999. He then began a 26-year career in law enforcement. During those years, he founded, developed, and commanded one of the most capable law enforcement marine units along the Gulf Coast.
Victor now intends to utilize all of his skills and knowledge to serve the boating community through education and marine services.
After a few years in the marine retail business and insurance industry, Sonia has spent the last 22 years as a certified legal assistant, working for a large litigation and maritime practice law firm in Mobile. She is currently serving as President of the Mobile Legal Professional’s Association and has recently served as President of the Alabama Association of Legal Professionals.
Sonia has been Victor’s deckhand for the last 36 years and considers herself a skilled first mate.

Sonia brings a background in marine retail, insurance, maritime legal support, and decades alongside Victor on the water. She helps guide the business with professionalism, organization, and a strong understanding of the boating community they serve.
